Welcome to our Governor Section
As the Governors of the school we are appointed to ensure that Longfields has the correct vision and an appropriate strategy to achieve this vision. We act as a critical friend to the school, setting high expectations and monitoring the schools performance whilst supporting school development.
Recently we have moved to a circular model of governance which means we only meet as a Full Governing Body and we do not have subcommittees.
Our reasoning and aim for this is to:
Our Governors
Mark Winch - Chair
Tom Futter - Co-opted governor
Katy Savage Brooks - Parent governor
Clare Bulgarelli - Co-opted governor
Josh Tyler - Teacher governor
James Peverill - Parent governor
Robert Envine - Parent governor
- Avoid repetition between meetings
- Allow decisions to be made immediately rather than having to be passed through several committees
- Reduce the time burden on governors
- Ensure that every governor has an understanding of the full range of GB responsibilities, enabling more informed and rounded decisions
- Ensure rapid turnaround of changes and actions generated at meetings
As Governors, we are always willing to listen to any views, suggestions or concerns that are brought to us. We are normally present at school events or can be contacted by letter or e-mail via the school office.
