Forest School
Welcome to our forest school. We are lucky enough to have a dedicated forest school teacher who leads forest school sessions.
At Longfields Primary and Nursery, our Forest School offers a welcoming approach to learning through hands-on, outdoor activities in a natural setting. Children explore woodland areas, develop curiosity, and build confidence through practical experiences such as shelter building, seasonal nature walks, and team-based challenges. Parents can be reassured that our sessions are structured to support primary age children while encouraging respect for the environment and a sense of wonder.
Forest School also helps children learn safely and thoughtfully while engaging with features such as a firepit and a bug hotel. Guided by our staff, children take part in age-appropriate activities that encourage observation, care for living things, and an understanding of how habitats work. These experiences strengthen communication, resilience, and wellbeing, while making learning memorable and meaningful for families across the school community.
